My journey as an interpreter and a translator
- My journey began as a freelance interpreter at the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where I honed my skills in translating official documents and providing linguistic support to visiting officials.
- Utilizing my expertise s an interpreter and language coordinator at the University of Washington Uzbekistan Educational Partnership Program, I prepared scholars for study abroad, organized pre-departure workshops, and facilitated smooth communication between English and Uzbek speakers.
- As a language specialist, I facilitated seamless communication and provided advisory support for State Department-funded program participants, offering synchronous interpretations between English and Uzbek for IVC-IREX. Also, I conducted translations and editing services for the Turkish Ministry of Education and the National Radio TV of Uzbekistan.
- At the Center for Turkic and Iranian Lexicography and Dialectology (CTILD) at Indiana University, I played a pivotal role as both a translator and project coordinator. I translated materials for multimedia projects, facilitated translations, and coordinated center activities, showcasing my ability to manage projects efficiently while ensuring linguistic accuracy.
- My dedication to promoting intercultural understanding extended to collaborative partnerships between Indiana University and Samarkand State University, where I served as an interpreter and Uzbek language coordinator. I translated paperwork, organized homestays, and coordinated enriching extracurricular activities, fostering meaningful cross-cultural exchanges.
- Furthermore, my consulting roles at JTG, Inc., ALTA Language Services, Inc., and the Linguistic Data Consortium allowed me to refine my skills in technical translation, localization, and literal translation.
- One of my notable achievements includes my involvement as an editor in the translation of "Bygone Days" by A. Qodiriy. Collaborating with esteemed linguists and fellow editors, I ensured the accuracy and cultural authenticity of the translated text, demonstrating my proficiency in both the linguistic and editorial domains.
