About Me

I have been in the higher education sector over 20 years. My experience in teaching and developing instructional materials for the less-commonly taught languages at Indiana University led me to the field of instructional design. Collaboration with specialists in the education field gave me the opportunity to explore the best methods of online teaching and learning.
I would like to teach at higher education institutes, organize workshops that can serve faculty who want to learn about emerging learning technologies, and graduate assistants who are preparing to teach. Particularly, I would like to inspire and motivate educators on using educational technology and innovative teaching methodologies. This website introduces my skills in instructional design and development, multimedia production, instructional evaluation, and research.

My Experiences
I have two decades of experience in online learning and content creation. Back in 1999, I developed eight online language modules for the CenAsiaNet project. Starting 2004 I developed first online Uzbek dictionary for IU. Furthermore, I have experienced online learning as a student. I have received a certificate in Distance education in 2010 and my second master’s degree from distance in 2013. Currently I am pursuing my EdD degree. Therefore, I am very familiar with both student and designer perspectives. Additionally, I taught online courses and organized professional development workshops for language teaching faculty using Zoom. I am comfortable with using variety of Learning Management Services (LMS) including Canvas, CourseNetworking, and Google Classroom web services, and add on apps.
I am very comfortable in learning new technologies, implementing, and designing online language learning materials. I consult faculty in designing and developing Canvas based online materials. Additionally, I conducted UX Design Analysis for non-profit organizations such as the American Association of Turkic Teachers, Uzbek-American Association of Chicago for improving their website, and for the Defense Language Institute (DLI)'s The Global Language Online Support System (GLOSS) project for improving their Uzbek language modules. I am familiar with Quality Assurance, Quality Matters, and Accessibility Standards. I have a strong ability in designing surveys, conducting evaluations, and needs analysis too.
